Sunday School
Each Sunday, children – from Pre-K to 6th Grade – learn of and live in God’s wonderful story through “Living the Word: Teaching Kids God’s Story.” This faith formation curriculum follows a set of Bible readings called the Narrative Lectionary, the Bible readings that Ebenezer follows in our Worship Services.
Students meet with a teacher and a shepherd who present each week’s story with supporting activities and share a snack. Class runs from 9:00 – 9:50, dismissing in time for all to transition to the sanctuary for worship which begins at 10:00.
Families are encouraged to continue the discussion through “The Story @ Home,” a weekly email, that helps parents keep up on what their child is learning and grow spiritually as a family. Each week, the email provides a summary of the story, an explanation of how the story relates to last week and next week, a spiritual practice challenge, and opportunities for family devotions.
Every year, the Sunday School selects a mission to support with the children’s weekly offerings. For the 2021-22 school year, Sheboygan’s Peace Park has been chosen.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Each summer, Vacation Bible School provides five evenings of high-energy learning of God’s Word. Kids will discover that God is always with them to encourage, comfort, and empower them. Starting with singing in the sanctuary, children ages 3-12 then move through a variety of themed workshops. Each evening begins with a family meal at 5:15 pm. VBS is usually scheduled for the last week in July. Registration begins in May.
