Habitat For Humanity Lakeside Dedicates Home
Ebenezer Youth Helped Frame
Habitat For Humanity Lakeside’s 52nd home was dedicated in May. Teanna Zillmer and her children moved in in June. The walls of this new home were framed in Ebenezer’s parking lot last July during our Local Mission Trip!
Ebenezer youth and adult volunteers worked with Habitat staff. Habitat For Humanity Lakeside provided lumber and all tools necessary for this project. Working alongside the new homeowner made the project even more special. Messages of encouragement and hope were added to the boards. In two days, the house was framed!
The frames were then taken down and stored in our parking lot until Oct. 14, when a Habitat crew moved them to the home site located on North Ave., just west of 15th Street and construction began.
At the dedication, Teanna Zillmer expressed her thanks to all who helped build her home. “I wasn’t raised in a religious household. But through Habitat, through the people I met, the kindness I received, and the strength I saw in others, I found something I didn’t know I was missing. I found God. And I truly believe He brought us here, not just to this home, but to this community, to this purpose.
“To the volunteers, donors, and the entire Habitat team: You didn’t just build a house. You built a foundation for our future. Every nail you hammered, every hour you gave, was a step toward stability, joy, and yes, grace. You helped me give my children a safe place to grow and a mother who’s grown, too.”
