Boykin Breaks Record

Senior gymnast Olevia Boykin set a team record in the all-around while claiming the title and helping Sheboygan North/South finish second at the 10-team Homestead Highlander Invitational on Saturday.

"We're ecstatic," said Sheboygan North/South coach Tricia Mueller. "What this team is doing, they are growing by leaps and bounds. The 139.0 total is the fourth-highest in team history."

Boykin scored 37.35 in the all-around, topping the former record of 37.175, set by Alexandra Nugent in 2005.

Boykin took first on balance beam (9.55), first on vault (9.3) and second on uneven bars (9.2).

Teammate Jennifer Drews tied for fourth in the floor exercise (9.15) and teammate Caitlin Jurk took sixth in the all-around (34.675) and sixth in the floor exercise (9.0).

Preps: Gymnasts set record

Sheboygan went 1-2-3 in every event and shattered
the old school record for team scores with a 141,
beating Markesan 141.0-91.075 on Monday night
in the final regular season dual of the season.

The old school record of 140.2 was set back in
2003.

Sheboygan finishes up 5-1 in the Eastern Valley
Conference duals, behind only 6-0 Oshkosh. The
conference tournament is Saturday in Oshkosh.

Monday night was Parents Night and Senior Night,
and Sheboygan did not disappoint. Senior Olevia
Boykin won three events and was first in the all-
around, while Jennifer Drews won the other event.
