Upcoming Events at Ebenezer
A Study of the Doctrine of Discovery: Five Sunday evenings – Jan. 27 – March 3, 6 to 7:30 pm. The Doctrine of Discovery, which was first enacted by Pope Nicolas V in 1452, authorized the killing and appropriation of lands of indigenous people as explorers “discovered” new lands. In 1823, the U.S. adopted Indian Policy for this country based on that doctrine. Not only have these laws never been discarded, the Doctrine of Discovery continues to have a negative impact on Native American lives. You are invited to learn more about the far-reaching effects of this policy. Study materials will be provided. Sign up in the Gathering Area or call the church at 920-452-9766, so we can provide enough study materials for all. (We will not meet on Super Bowl Sunday.)
Ebenezer’s early service on Sundays begins at 9:00 am. Sunday School begins at 9:15 am. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the service to share in the music and liturgy until students are dismissed to attend Sunday School at 9:15 – 10:00. Comma Café – coffee and conversation – is offered between services, from 9:45 to 10:30 am. The late service starts at 10:30 am.
